part 7
It was a long winter. We built another race car over the winter and you can
see that at www.fastpistons.com. While Mike Borr and I where doing that
over the winter, 69 Camaro driver, Tony Goodman basically rebuilt the 69.
He rebuilt the engine, installed new rear springs, a new front end and
switched over to a new turbo 200 trans.

In photo 7A we see our 69 in the G/SA class for the 2001 racing season.
Tony qualified the car at -.785 under the G/SA NHRA standard. This photo
shows how much higher the car leaves the line. This photo was the Division
3 Federal Mogul 2001 opener at Route 66 Dragway in Joliet, Illinois.

In photo 7B we can see a lot more air under the front end also. This was
one of the first passes of the season at Mid-Michigan Motorplex in Stanton,
MI.

In photo 7C we see our new turbo 200 converter from
www.dynamicconverters.com. They are one of the BEST converter companies in
the US. I have been a loyal customer for about 15 years and with five race
cars you don't need any converter problems. Give Frank Lupo a call a
1-800-846-5876 and he will be happy to advise you on what converter you need
for your race car or street machine.

In photo 7D we see what all the stock and super stock guys have been using
for year, a set of Global West's front control arm bushings. These bushings
when installed offer immediate load transfer, with smooth movement u and
down of your front end. They have grease fittings for easy bushing
lubrication for proper suspension maintenance. They also include a special
thrust washer to isolate the bushing housing from the frame and maintain
proper control arm position. Basically it is an aluminum bushing pressed in
with a plastic insert with grease grooves and holes positioned in the right
spot for your car to pull the front up for great weight transfer. These
things work great and there website is at www.globalwest.net/. They can be
reached at 1-877-470-2975. They have something to fit every car.

In 7E we see all the front end parts that we purchased from
www.classicindustries.com . They have great prices on all the parts you
need for your restoration. You can also reach them at 1-800-854-1280.

In 7F you see the great new two piece rear leaf springs made at our friends
at CAL-TRACS. These are a simple bolt in and they can be reached at
661-948-1490 or at their website which is www.calvertracing.com This
company only makes the highest quality parts and it is owned by one of the
best Super Stock drivers around, John Calvert.

In photo 7G you can see the installed Cal-Trac bars and the Cal-Trac rear
leaf springs. They can make just about anything. Give them a call.

In photo 7h, you see another last minute purchase. It is a firewall mounted
transmission dipstick sold by www.lokar.com. When we switched to the Jim's
Performance Transmission's turbo 200 the 5 dipsticks I had didn't fit. So a
quick call to Lokar solved the problem. They make a ton of parts, make sure
you go to their website. Once you install one of these, you want one on
every car.

In photo 7i you see the installed www.lokar.com transmission dipstick. It
works great and you can mount them just about anywhere.
